SUNDAY SERVICE & MINISTRIES

Sunday Morning Worship

9:30AM

In dress, in emotional condition, in state of belief or unbelief. Our worship is traditional and approachable, with the congregation carrying much of the singing and the praying. Communion is shared at a table open to all.

Come as you are.

Peace at the Last

A liturgy for accompanying the dying

In response to the call to accompany those who are near death, Peace at the Last is a litany conceived by members of Lake Chelan Lutheran Church, Chelan, WA.

Peace at the Last will guide you, with renewed hope, through the fear of death into extravagant love as you embrace the journey toward death with, or in remembrance of, a loved one.

Accompanying the dying in the confidence that Christ has defeated death brings reassurance to the dying and renewed hope to the living. Alone or with friends, family, and yes, even young children, share Peace at the Last and find comfort, closure, and release.

Peace at the Last was created and published through Augsburg Fortress, originally to help people who want to visit the dying but feel unprepared to do so. Over the years, it has also brought healing to those who could not be present when a loved one was dying.

No One Dies Alone

Providing a reassuring presence to the dying

Mother Teresa said, "No one should die alone…Each human should die with the sight of a loving face."

Our trained volunteers are available to provide a reassuring presence to the dying person who might otherwise be alone.

No One Dies Alone (NODA) is a national program that originally began in Oregon in 2001. It has since been embraced by hospitals and groups nationwide.

Music-thanatology

Music therapy for the terminally ill

Certified music-thanatologist, Ruth Kittleson, brings harp and voice to people who are terminally ill, potentially softening fear, discomfort and suffering with the prescriptive qualities of music. Common responses to this service are eased respirations, reduced anxiety, decreased pain and deeper rest.

Coming Home to the Liturgy

Nurturing the connection between Sunday service and everyday life

Sundays
7:30-8:30PM

We are offering Liturgy & Life for anyone seeking to deepen their spiritual life, every Sunday at 11 AM, following worship.

Worship orients and forms disciples of Jesus. Discipleship, in turn, deepens congregational worship. Life & Liturgy is a model for experiencing the fundamental, but often overlooked, interconnection between these two pillars of the Christian faith.

Each week, we take one element of the liturgy and explore it together in conversation. A practice grows out of that conversation, something to carry into the coming week and bring back the following Sunday for the group to reflect on together.

Breathing Space

A weekly gathering for reflection & meditation

Wednesdays
7:30PM

You are not alone! In these times of fires, smoky skies, strife, wars, and economic uncertainty, you might appreciate spending an hour each week in a calm, peaceful setting where you can reflect and relax.

If so: come and join us at the Lutheran Church in Chelan every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Here you will be able to meditate, listen to and enjoy wonderful harp and guitar music, do some singing, some praying, and have the opportunity to share, if you so wish, your current feelings with others.

This is not a regular religious service, it is just an hour spent with others in a calming, soothing environment that allows us to reflect and meditate.
